Elegant Black Tie Wedding at Union League Philadelphia

From Annette's Austin Scarlett wedding gown to their vintage Rolls Royce getaway car, there was no shortage of perfectly elegant details for college sweethearts Annette and Matthew’s perfect Philadelphia wedding.

The bride and her gals started the day by getting glam with the fabulous Aleksandra Ambrozy and from there planned to take a quick ride with Philadelphia Trolley Works over to St. John the Evangelist for the ceremony. We didn’t get far though because a giant crane was blocking traffic right outside of the Union League! That’s center city life for you.  Luckily the church was only four blocks away so we took that crane as our cue to get our steps in and boy, were we glad we did. The pics Peter Van Beever captured of Annette and her dad walking down Broad Street were some of the best of the day.

Ceremony underway, Annette and Matthew who opted for a traditional first look, finally got to see each other! It gave us all the feels in the very best way. Watching Matthew catch the first glimpse of his bride may have brought a tear to even this seasoned wedding planner’s eye. If you’re in the mood for a good happy cry,  definitely go back to our post featuring the highlight film by Lavon Films and watch it for yourself. So good!

With the knot tied, it was off to the Union League Philadelphia to party. The lovebirds snuck off for a couple of quiet moments alone in the library while guests got their first taste of the stunning decor by the talented Nancy Saam. The floral display on the escort card table was simply breathtaking. Until, of course the doors to Lincoln Hall opened to reveal even more gorgeous blooms, classic silver vases and candle holders and no shortage of elegant taper candles for a room that simply glowed. With the help of Around Town Entertainment we danced the night away straight up to Annette and Matthew’s super fun sparkler exit!
