Berry & Blush Ritz Carlton Philadelphia Wedding

With Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, we’re getting in the mood for love with Martha & Brendan’s beautiful berry and blush wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia. Martha & Brendan first met through work in New York City and their courtship culminated in the rolling hills of Burgundy, France where they became engaged amidst the vines. When it came to planning their special day, I’ll always remember Martha’s reply when I asked her to describe her wedding vision. She said, “Think of a classic, grown up affair with great wine and a touch of mummers.”

We planned their berry and blush wedding in just under seven months, which required quick decision making at many turns. Throughout the process, I was continually impressed with the way Martha & Brendan so thoughtfully considered their family & friends’ experience. As an homage to her roots, Martha selected St. Agatha and St. James Church for their nupital mass, where her grandparents married in 1934. Outside of church, bagpipes rang out and warmly welcomed Brendan’s family, many of whom had flown in from Ireland. Instead of a traditional bridal party, Martha and Brendan opted to have their siblings act as bridesmaids, bridesmen, groomsmen and groomswomen. Their nieces and nephews participated as flower girls (twins!), readers, gift and ring bearers. Be sure to check out the hand sewn ring pillow Martha made for her nephew, who was celebrating his 9th birthday that day!

Over at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, we worked with a wonderful team of wedding pros to transform the Grand Ballroom. Petals Lane created three romantic centerpiece styles featuring berry and blush peonies, roses, hydrangeas and tulips. Chick Invitations created escort cards, table numbers, and event signage to compliment Martha & Brendan’s beautiful berry letterpressed wedding invitations. Synergetic cast a romantic glow around the entire ballroom with softest amber colored uplighting, and washed Eventquip’s stylish black & white dance floor in clean light for photos.

Sincerest thanks to Asya Photography for capturing the day so beautifully, and for sharing these romantic images with us here on the blog.
