A Philadelphia Love Affair at The Bellevue

You may recognize this fun-loving couple from our previous post about tacos & tequila, and if you liked the bridal shower, you’re going to LOVE the wedding! Katie and Kyle’s love story is a true Philadelphia affair with their first meeting, engagement and wedding all happening within about a four block radius in Center City. The pair first met at long-time Philadelphia establishment and home to the city’s best Belgian mussels, Monk’s Cafe. Kyle was a bartender there and it just happened to be Katie’s weekly dinner spot with her parents. You know it’s meant to be when your parents like a guy so much they help orchestrate you getting together! After about two and half years of dating, Kyle told Katie that they were going to a party at the Kimmel center and when they got up to the Hamilton Garden, Katie saw that it was decorated just for her as Kyle got down on one knee.

The couple knew they wanted to plan a wedding in the heart of Philly, the city that brought them together, and the iconic Bellevue Hotel on South Broad street was just the place. We started the day upstairs with glam by Aleksandra Ambrozy before heading out for photos around the city with Alison Conklin. When it came time for the ceremony guests gathered in the Rose Garden Ballroom to watch our lovebirds exchange their own vows, share a shot of tequila and of course no one will ever forget the cutest attendant ever, Katie and Kyle’s two-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Ryder, who walked down the aisle dressed in a tux to join his parents for the wedding ceremony. Three cheers to The Bellevue for being a dog-friendly hotel!

Once the knot was tied and the tequila shots were taken, guests enjoyed cocktail hour before heading down to the Grand Ballroom for a the reception, complete with luscious florals by Petal’s Lane, Rentals by La Tavola, Luxe Event Rentals and Vision Furniture, and lighting by Eventions. It was absolutely stunning!

From there we danced and dined the night away only pausing for a special surprise when Cinemacake’s Same Day Film was projected on a custom screen behind the band on the stage, which of course brought us all to tears. For the final song of the night Jellyroll brought Katie and Kyle up on stage to sing All Night Long surrounded by their friends and family. The perfect transition to the after party which took place on the top floor at the Bellevue’s chic restaurant XIX

We loved planning this beautiful, fun, and family-filled day with Katie and Kyle. Scroll on for the gorgeous photos!
